The University of Kent, the Durrell Institute and Fauna & Flora International hosted a Managing and Leading Conservation Projects course last December in Cambridge, UK. This course brought together more than 25 participants from different organizations working in nature conservation projects worldwide, and was attended by Principe Trust Foundation's conservation manager, Estrela Matilde. This was an important opportunity not only to learn about leadership strategies and project management, but to share experiences and network. Many experiences have been shared, and many new ideas have emerged. Although we work with different species, different ecosystems, different communities and different countries, conservation issues are often similar and sharing experiences allows us finding solutions that we might otherwise miss when we are too focused on our own projects. Global conservation is achieved through local action and teamwork!
