With Christmas around the corner, Gisela has just finished her internship in Príncipe and she's back to Portugal! Soon she'll finish her report for the Omali Vida Nón project, about small scale fishing fishing on the island, bringing her Erasmus+ adventure to an end. In Gisela's own words: "It was a privilege to be able to work in such a beautiful place, surrounded by incredibly qualified people and to be welcomed the way I was. I learned a lot and I hope one day to come back." Our Omali Vida Nón wishes everyone Happy Holidays! See you next year!

The second BRUV sampling round has already started! This December we will be dropping cameras in 60 sampling points around the island, plus three more cameras in a new site: Tinhosas Islets! Tinhosas are located 20 km south of Principe, and host one of the biggest populations of nesting seabirds in the Gulf of Guinea. Fishers use this area, so it is important to assess its biodiversity. We are looking forward to analysing the videos: we have already found species that are not present in Principe island!
