The team of our new project "Umuen life / Omali nón life" ( "Sea, our lives" in creole languages) has been busy listening to ideas, suggestions and concerns of fishers and fish traders in the island of Principe. We have organized focus groups in several communities to learn about artisanal fishing and start working together towards a sustainable future. Litoney Matos and Ana Nuno were also guests of the news program of the Regional Radio of Principe, where they presented the project. We also distributed posters of commercial fish from São Tomé and Príncipe, kindly donated by Flying Sharks, which we used to learn with fishers and fish traders about their fishing practices.
