Last week, our project was visited by a team of representatives from FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) who traveled to Sao Tome and Principe to discuss international collaborations related to the Blue Economy. In addition to learning about the objectives and results of our project, they also visited fishers and fish traders in Praia Abade and Burras, where they learned about our activities with fishing communities and learned about some of the challenges and opportunities faced by the several communities. The future of the Blue Economy, which is based on an environmentally and socially sustainable economy, also happens in Principe and so we're thrilled about the visit and possible collaborations.
