On the 16th of June, several partners of the project "Omali Vida Nón" inaugurated the new community centre in Lapa. With the presence of the President of the Regional Government of Principe Island, José Cassandra, representatives of the Principe Trust Foundation and Biosphere Reserve, as well as fishers and the fish traders of Lapa, this was a great opportunity to discuss some of the needs felt by the community. The construction of this infrastructure results from the initiative "Community Ideas", which aims to promote greater community dynamism. You can watch the TV report about this event in the video below. On the 30th and 31st of May, fish traders and fishers from Praia Abade learnt how to produce handmade soap using locally produced coconut oil. This idea was proposed by the group and aims to explore an alternative source of income for fish traders and fishers. Being a sustainable soap, we all want to try it! Thank you, Lina!
