As part of the project to establish a "Network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) of São Tomé and Príncipe", a workshop has been taking place, since last week, to identify mechanisms for the creation of a national plan to draw up a strategy for the fiscalazation and monitoring of marine protected areas.
To this end, we have two consultants from WildAid, an American non-profit organization, who have contributed to define the plan, in order to ensure the marine conservation and the sustainability of fisheries and the livelihoods of the families dependent on marine resources in São Tomé and Príncipe.
